Armex soda blasting, without damaging surfaces

We remove graffiti, paint, soot and grease from walls, stone, metal and wood without scratching the surface. And we dispose of the dirt removed ourselves, in compliance with the law.

What it is

Instead of sand we use Armex sodium bicarbonate crystals, propelled by compressed air. Bicarbonate is much softer than sand: the crystals shatter when they hit the surface and lift off the layer of dirt or paint without eroding the material underneath. It does not heat the surface and the residues dissolve in water.

How soda blasting works

What we do

  • Graffiti removal and removal of writing from walls, façades, railings and doors
  • Cleaning of stone, brick and render without wearing it away
  • Paint stripping from metal, wood and fibreglass
  • Cleaning of soot after a fire and mould removal
  • Cleaning of machinery and plant, including in the food industry
  • Cleaning of engine and vehicle parts
  • Boats: removal of paint and antifouling from hulls

Who it's for

  • Apartment buildings: defaced façades, entrance halls, gates and boundary walls
  • Councils and public bodies: public walls, underpasses, monuments
  • Shops, hotels and restaurants: shop windows, shutters, kitchens and hoods
  • Businesses: machinery, plant and industrial buildings
  • Boatyards, shipyards and marinas
  • Private customers: gates, railings, furniture and wooden beams

Why bicarbonate

  • It does not damage the surface: it is a soft abrasive (hardness 2.5 out of 10) that leaves no marks and does not distort the material.
  • It does not generate heat: it can be used on delicate parts and thin sheet metal.
  • It dissolves in water: residues rinse away and do not clog pipes, cracks or machine parts.
  • It cleans different materials together: metal, rubber and plastic on the same part, often without having to mask them.

How we work, step by step

  1. Site inspectionWe look at the surface, the type of dirt or paint and what is around it.
  2. Protecting the areaWe cover plants, flower beds and nearby surfaces; where needed we work wet to keep dust down.
  3. BlastingWe choose the grit size and pressure to suit the material.
  4. Final clean-upWe collect the residues and rinse.
  5. DisposalThe paint and dirt removed are waste. We take them to an authorised facility with a waste transfer form (FIR), as we do every day with other waste.

📍 We work throughout Liguria: Savona, Imperia, Genoa and La Spezia.

FAQ

Will it damage the wall or the stone?

No: bicarbonate is softer than sand and removes the surface layer without wearing away the material. During the site inspection we do a test on a hidden spot.

Does it harm plants?

Bicarbonate can dry out leaves, which is why we cover and wet plants and flower beds before and after the job.

Does old graffiti come off completely?

It depends on the paint and how deeply it has penetrated the material. We check this with a test during the site inspection.

Who disposes of the residues?

We do: we are registered with the Albo Gestori Ambientali and give you the waste transfer form (FIR).
