Diesel filtration and tank cleaning

With the AXI MTC-X mobile system we recover diesel that has been standing for a long time: we remove water, sludge and sediment and return it clean to the tank, without emptying it or throwing it away.

The problem

Diesel that stands in a tank for a long time gets dirty: condensation forms, water and sludge settle on the bottom and the fuel degrades. Clogged filters, engines that cut out and generators that fail to start just when you need them are the most common consequences.

How diesel filtration works

What we do

  • Diesel filtration (fuel polishing): we draw off the diesel, pass it through several filters and return it clean to the tank, in a continuous cycle.
  • Water separation: the first stage separates free water and coarser dirt, which we collect separately.
  • Fine filtration: cartridge filters capture the smallest particles.
  • Tank cleaning: recirculation stirs up and removes sediment from the bottom.
  • Additives: if needed, we add the additive directly to the filtered diesel.
  • Disposal: we take water, sludge and spent filters to an authorised facility with a waste transfer form.

The machine handles about 98 litres per minute, i.e. about 5,900 litres per hour (manufacturer's figure: actual output depends on the tank and how dirty the diesel is).

Who it's for

  • Apartment buildings with a diesel boiler or tank
  • Emergency generators: hospitals, care homes, hotels, businesses
  • Businesses with their own fuel pump and work vehicles
  • Farms
  • Boats and yachts: diesel tanks
  • Councils and public bodies

Why it pays

  • The diesel is recovered: no need to throw it away and buy more.
  • Less downtime: fewer clogged filters and fewer injector failures.
  • On-site work: the system is mobile, so the tank does not need to be removed.
  • One company: we filter, clean and dispose of the residues ourselves, with a waste transfer form.

How we work, step by step

  1. Site inspectionWe check the tank, how much diesel it holds and how much water is at the bottom.
  2. ConnectionWe connect the mobile system to the tank with dedicated hoses.
  3. FiltrationWe circulate the diesel through the filters until it is clean; through the sight glass we check the separated water.
  4. AdditiveIf needed, we add it during recirculation.
  5. Disposal and reportWe dispose of water, sludge and filters with a waste transfer form and give you the job report.
If the tank needs to be decommissioned or decontaminated, we take care of it: see the Environmental remediation and tank cleaning page.

📍 We work throughout Liguria: Savona, Imperia, Genoa and La Spezia.

FAQ

Do I need to empty the tank?

No: the diesel is filtered and returned to the same tank.

How often should it be done?

It depends on how long the diesel stands and on the type of system. At the site inspection we tell you what makes sense in your case.

Does it also work with biodiesel?

The manufacturer lists diesel, biodiesel, light oils and hydraulic oils. We check this case by case.
