PFAS water testing: €230
PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are chemical compounds used in many industrial products. They are called "forever chemicals" because they do not break down and remain in the environment for a long time. From 2026 Europe has set stricter limits for drinking water, and in the Savona area some municipalities have temporarily banned the use of mains water for drinking and cooking.
Please note: boiling water does not remove PFAS.
Who it is for: homes with a well or spring · apartment buildings with a storage tank or booster pump · hotels, B&Bs, restaurants and bars · anyone who has installed a filter and wants to know if it really works.
What is included: sampling at your premises with suitable containers, PFAS testing in an accredited laboratory, an official report explained in plain language and, if the values are not OK, advice on filtration systems certified for PFAS.
Mains water is checked by the water utility and the local health authority (ASL): our analysis checks the water at your tap, in your well or after your filter. If your municipality has issued a ban, always follow the municipality's instructions: a private test or a home filter does not replace them.
Need drinking water until the ban is lifted? We deliver water with tankers used only for drinking water.
What we test
- PFAS: per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances subject to the new EU limits
- Drinkability parameters: microbiological (such as E. coli and enterococci) and chemical-physical
- Legionella at risk points: showers, boilers, hot water
- Metals such as lead, in old pipes
- Well or spring water for homes not connected to the mains water supply
- Water for food: kitchen, coffee machine, ice
Who it's for
- Hotels, B&Bs, campsites, gyms, care homes and schools: buildings used by the public
- Restaurants, bars and food production businesses: checks as part of the HACCP plan
- Apartment buildings with a booster pump, storage tank or old pipes
- Private customers with a well, spring or doubts about their tap water
What you receive
- Sampling record
- Accredited lab report
- Explanation of the results and, if needed, what to do: tank cleaning, sanitisation, pipe replacement
How we work, step by step
- Call or formYou tell us where and which water you want checked; we suggest the right test.
- SamplingOne of our technicians takes the sample in sterile containers and takes it to the laboratory within the correct time.
- Lab analysisAn accredited laboratory carries out the tests.
- Report and adviceWe explain the results and, if something is wrong, we suggest a solution.
The laws to comply with
- EU Directive 2020/2184 and Leg. Decree 18/2023
- The EU directive on water intended for human consumption, transposed in Italy by Leg. Decree 18/2023: it sets quality parameters, including the new PFAS limits in force from 2026, and introduces risk assessment of internal distribution systems in priority buildings.
- Italian national Legionella guidelines (2015)
- They set out how to prevent and control Legionella in accommodation, healthcare facilities and systems with hot water and showers.
- D.M. 25/2012
- Technical rules for home water treatment equipment (filters, reverse osmosis): installation, maintenance and mandatory information for sellers and installers.
- Regulation (EC) 852/2004
- For food businesses, the water used must be drinkable and is part of HACCP self-monitoring.

FAQ
Does boiling water remove PFAS?
No. Boiling does not remove PFAS: that is why, where a ban is in place, municipalities prohibit using the water for drinking and cooking even when boiled.
Is a home filter enough against PFAS?
Only if it is a system certified to reduce PFAS (for example reverse osmosis or high-quality activated carbon), properly installed and with the cartridges changed when scheduled. A test after the filter lets us check that it really works.
How much does PFAS testing cost?
€230 excl. VAT, with sampling at your premises and accredited lab report.
How often should you test your water?
For businesses open to the public and food businesses, usually at least once a year; for Legionella, more often in buildings with showers and hot water. For a private home with a well, at least once a year.
How long does the report take?
It depends on the parameters; with the urgent service the report arrives in about 5 days.
What if the water is not OK?
We explain the likely cause and we can fix it ourselves: cleaning of tanks and cisterns, sanitisation, mapping and inspection of pipes.
